2020 Gold Star Teen and Collegiate Summer Internship Application

RF-Lambda is sponsoring Summer Internships for juniors, seniors and college students interested in pursuing a career in a STEM, business or marketing field. The internship will begin at the end of June and run for six weeks. Student applicants must have lost a parent while on active duty, such as in the case of illness, accident, suicide, or KIA. Students must be from San Diego or Orange County (may attend college out of state).

The application is due Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Please direct any questions and/or submit the application and letters of reference to Admin@theSugarBearFoundation.org. Dates will be announced with the selection of interns.

Amazing RF-LAMBDA Open House!

Thank you to our wonderful scholarship sponsor, RF-LAMBDA for their support and Holiday Open House. We all had a great afternoon and enjoyed spending time with surviving families. Thanks to their generosity, we will have another educational opportunity to share in a few weeks and an upcoming college seminar with our Family Forever partner on Sunday, February 23rd.

In June, our Chairman learned about the power of social media when she had the opportunity to meet a very special Marine and service dog. We look forward to working with Judy, Griff, Cori, and Richochet on some special events for Gold Star families.

Back to School Gift Cards with Family Forever Program

In August we joined our partner from the Family Forever program in providing Gold Star spouses gift cards for their children's back to school shopping needs. We would not be able to provide such opportunities without the financial support we receive.

This amazing Gold Star teen is a rising senior and involved in several activities such as tennis, orchestra, robotics, and coaching children’s chess teams. We are excited to assist her with her educational endeavors.

Register Now for Sugar Bear’s Virtual Memorial Run - July 22nd

There is still time to register for Sugar Bear’s Virtual Memorial Run! You can run, bike, hike or walk in honor of our hero. Funds from this event will help support both Marines and our programs/events as well as initiatives we are trying to launch. Help us celebrate Sugar Bear’s life this Monday, July 22nd in a way that is truly impactful.

The first 300 participants to complete the event will receive an exclusive race pin with the image above. The registration fee is $25.
