At RF-Lambda we feel a connection to the military community and we are committed to the surviving children of our country’s military and first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We feel a profound social responsibility to take care of our military families and invest in the children of the fallen.

The Sugar Bear Foundation was formed in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Mario “Sugar Bear” Carazo. The mission of the foundation is to support the surviving spouses and children of fallen United States military personnel by providing assistance to support programs which meet their immediate and ongoing needs and foster their personal, emotional, and social well-being. In doing so, we continue Mario’s legacy of service, share his story and celebrate his life in a way that is impactful upon our fallen military families.

Sugar Bear Foundation Updates

We love seeing our logo!  Thank you to Dog Tag Brewing and HMLA 369 for making this happen.

In November Sugar Bear’s widow and son attended the Honor the Fallen event at the United States Naval Academy.  Sugar Bear was one of the alumni recognized during the November 12th football game.

It was extremely special for Sugar Bear to be recognized at the Nixon Library and to have an ornament hung on their tree in his honor.

Our amazing crew of volunteers at the Carlsbad Tri- City Medical Center Marathon & Half.  A special thank you goes out to HMLA 169 for all of their support during this event.

We had an awesome time at Sugar Bear’s BBQ & Beers!  We are grateful to everyone that supported this event and helped us raise funds for Angels of America’s Fallen.

Raise your Beer, Toast A Hero: Mario Carazo

"The greatest of call signs are so well selected that they seem to capture everything about the person that bears it. Eventually, these aviators are known almost exclusively by their new name. Using anything else in reference might confuse fellow pilots until the call sign brings clarity to the conversation.

For Lieutenant Colonel Mario Carazo, he earned one of those call signs that stand out because his was so incredibly perfect."
